Meet + Greet: Ellery Schempp

I was able to talk to him after the lecture and discuss religion as a cultural phenomenon. He is an awesome guy who was very open and vocal about this Atheism. After the lecture he went with members from the Secular Student Alliance for some mexican food :) What a lovely man.

I didn't realize that my camera was out of juice so I had to use my g1.  I am a little dissapointed in myself that I did not have a good camera available and that I did not record the lecture (someone else shared this same dissapointment).  Notice the purple shirts throughout the room :)  I was so happy to see all the support for the gay community in the room!  Yay gays :D

Wear Purple to Care!!!

I'm wearing this to show support to the gay community:

Its been decided that on October, 20th 2010, we will wear purple in memorial of the GLBT youth who have committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes and schools. Purple represents Spirit on the LGBTQ flag and thats exactly what we'd like all of you to have with you: Spirit. Please know that times will get better and that you will meet people who love you and respect you for who you are, no matter your sexuality. Wearing purple on the 20th in no way means you're a homosexual. It just means that you support the LGBTQ community, and that you are against homophobia.

Please wear purple on October, 20th 2010. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors and schools.
